Our Supported

We partner with a number of Evansville organizations whose mission aligns with ours, to fund programs/projects which provide youth athletics, education, and social development to underserved areas of the Evansville community.

Boys & Girls Club RBI

Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI), sponsored by Major League Baseball, is a national outreach program designed to promote the game of baseball to teenage boys and girls in disadvantaged areas.

The program's mission:

  • Increase participation and interest in baseball and softball among under-served youth

  • Encourage academic participation and achievement

  • Increase number of talented athletes prepared to play in college and minor leagues

  • Promote greater inclusion of minorities into the mainstream of the game

  • Teach the value of teamwork

Highland Baseball Challenger League

The Little League Challenger Division® was founded in 1989, and is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges.  There are currently more than 950 Challenger programs serving 30,000+ athletes around the world.

The Highland Baseball Challenger League serves the Evansville, IN region and surrounding counties in Kentucky and Illinois - at no cost to families.

YMCA Summer

Learning Loss Prevention

In 2016, Mattingly Charities partnered with the YMCA of Southwestern Indiana to sponsor the Glenwood Leadership Academy location of the Summer Learning Loss program.

This program is part of a National YMCA movement to positively impact the reading levels of children in YMCA communities.  Our Evansville YMCA is one of 96 YMCAs in the nation to host the program, and includes 2.5 hours of literacy and 4.5 hours of fun enrichment activities each day.

Last year, over 95% of the students avoided summer learning loss.

Minds In Motion

Mattingly Charities is excited to partner with Delaware Elementary School throughout the 2018/2019 school year to support their Minds In Motion Program.

This program uses a combination of creative movement, dance, and tactile activities to allow students to learn by carrying out physical activities, rather than listening to a lecture or watching demonstrations.

Splash Into Summer

Mattingly Charities is proud to support the Splash Into Summer project, created by the Evansville Parks Foundation in partnership with local corporate sponsors and community supporters.

This annual donation drive collects items such as swim trunks/bathing suits, beach towels, flip flops, and swim diapers for children to use at neighborhood pools.  The goal is to collect donated items that will be given to children and families to make swimming more affordable while encouraging attendance at city swimming pools and participation in local swimming competitions.

Money raised by the community will be used to help offset the cost of free cookouts for swimmers at neighborhood pools this summer and to cover the pool admission for children from families that cannot afford to pay.
